My wife and I will be traveling to vegas for 4 nights in April. Tentatively, I%26#39;ve decided that our bankroll will be $400 ($200 each). I can afford a little more, but this is a safe amount I feel. We%26#39;ve never been to Vegas and we%26#39;ve never gambled before. I%26#39;ve been getting acquainted with the games I want to play (blackjack, video poker, slots, roulette) so I don%26#39;t think I%26#39;ll blow the money. Will this be enough to last us for 4 nights? I doubt we%26#39;ll be gambling every night as we%26#39;ll be taking in some shows, but we%26#39;ll definitely go casino hopping one night. Thanks for the feedback!!

You will receive as many different answers as there are posters on this board. It all depends on how much and what type of gambling you plan on doing. For myself I usually take around 5k for a 7day stay.
I tend to gamble alot when I am in Vegas. That is the main reason I go to Vegas. I gamble 6-8 hours out of every day.

Thanks for the reply! But I think I need to hear from a non high roller ; - )
That is very difficult to answer. I am as low a roller as there is. I went to Vegas the first time thinking I would try craps, roulette, blackjack, and then I lost my first 60 dollars on slots in just a couple minutes and decided I hated losing money more than I liked the possibilty of winning money so I didn%26#39;t gamble the rest of the trip. I do video poker here and there now but never more than $20. Most people I know who are lowrollers usually allow themselves 100-200 dollars a day (they set the dollar amount and stick with it) and once it%26#39;s gone they are done. I think you have to ask yourself how much would you be comfortable losing on the trip, divide by the number of days you are there and that should be your answer.
we have just ret from vegas........my reviews are up there...= 10 nights....
we are not big gamblers but 50$ on a slot can go in minutes........so like others have said just have a daily limit then when its gone its gone....
dont assume that when on a game or slot or say u r glancing over someones shoulder and seeing thy are winning........by sitting on the next slot will not make u a winner......just be careful u dont spend more that ur limit....have a great time ...we did........it rocks !!!!
I agree with JackandSally. There is no way to predict how long a certain amount of money will last you. At times $40 has lasted me hours and other times a couple of hundred dollars has lasted only minutes. Decide on a gambling budget and stick to it. It is very easy to get carried away-even if you think you won%26#39;t do that. There is the excitement of being in a casino, all those people, all those lights, all the sounds. If you are winning you keep wanting to play because you are on a roll; if you are losing you can feel you somehow have to keep playing in order to win your money back! Keep your cool and keep to your budget.
I guess it%26#39;s all about sound judgement and sticking to the budget. We will certainly do just that. Thanks to everyone that took the time to reply!!
It will be enough if you decide it will be enough. It won%26#39;t go very far on tabke games on the strip but there is a decent chance you can stretch it out on low demonination slots and video poker. All you need to do is only take the day%26#39;s gambing allotment out and leave the rest in your room. Once the money for the day is gone, find something else to do. I usually plan on a $100 a day for slots although I don%26#39;t usually come home up, I do come home with part of my budget left.
I am going to vegas for the first time in Feb. I will be there 7 nights and have alloted $100 a day to gamble ($50 for the both of us).
I think the trick is to find low limit tables for table games (mainly downtown and the older casinos) and spend time on cheaper penny and nickle Video Poker machines. Forget the slots!
Im a blackjack and poker guy, my wife loves roulettle.
Im hoping that we will win some days, lose others but come out ok. Also dont forget its your/mine first trip, so there will be alot to see and do!
Hope that helps,
Taz
Your budget will not go far on table games. Most strip hotels will only have $5 limits early in the day at some of the better casinos, and then some of the lower end casino will have it throughout the day. But it is very easy to catch a bad run of cards in blackjack, so it could go quick. Same is true for roulette. Sounds like your best bet is video poker and slots at a low level.
I am a low roller for sure.
You might want to practice .25 cent Video Poker a bit before you go - that could end up to be a good game for you , I have had many times I could play for hours on $25 - 50 and others that I ended up ahead after playing for hours. Don%26#39;t be afraid to leave a cold machine or leave a machine that was hot and now is cold.
