Gun shops/clubs

Can you simply go to a shop or firing range with no permit etc and hire guns??

A group of us (from the UK) are going to LV soon and thought what a great way to spend an hour or two

Any recommendations would be great - there appear to be several clubs/firing ranges/shops

You can rent various machine guns (Uzi, AK-47, etc.). the website has a coupon as well.

Gun shops/clubs

The gun store is good. There are places also on Blue Diamond and Boulder. Look at the phone book under GUNS at your hotel.

Forgot to mention - You just have to be 21 years old I believe. No permits required.

Not only can you simply go and hire a gun, but you can use a machine pistol and other automatic weapons. A real treat for those UKers who have given up the right to keep and bear arms!

There are several gun stores in Vegas that have indoor ranges.

1. My favorite is The Gun Store, on Tropicana about 3 miles (I%26#39;m guessing) east of the Strip. You can rent a firearm (including Class 3) and fire away. This is an indoor range. They have some level of firearms instruction; I know they have CCW classes.

I have recently been to the American Shooter Range. This is about half a block north of Spring Mountain (the cross-street of Wynn%26#39;s and Treasure Island), several miles west of the Strip, on Arville. They also rent firearms (Class 3 and handguns), and it is a nice indoor range. They have some level of firearms instruction; I know they have CCW classes.

There is another one, even closer to the Strip. Discount Firearms is located at 3084 Highland, #B. (702) 567-1158. They have an indoor pistol and rifle range, and are a Class 3 dealer. They advertise ';machine gun rentals';, but I can%26#39;t vouch for whether they are actually renting machine guns, sub-machine guns, or what. Their hours are Mon - Sat, 9 - 7. I haven%26#39;t checked this place out in person yet, because I%26#39;m usually available only on Sunday when they are closed. One of the people posting on this Forum put up the name and the prices, and I checked the phone book to get the address and other details.

I know that there is an indoor range at the Bass Pro Shop at the Silverton Casino, several miles south of the Strip area. I haven%26#39;t looked into this one, either. I think it is open only to people looking to buy one of their guns.

Here is some information on prices for gun rentals, culled from other people%26#39;s posts on this Forum:

Herfnerd reported: The Gun Store charges $40 for the sub-machine gun rental, 2 magazines (50 rds) and a generic target. The assault rifle rental is $25 and 25 rounds. You can also find a $5 off coupon on their website. [Editor%26#39;s note: The $5 coupon is also in many of the free Tourist Guides available throughout the Vegas area.] It is definitely a blast (no pun intended!)

Mrs.TuffPaws reported: We just got back from Vegas. Went to Discount Firearms, one street west from the strip (I think) and rented a machine gun. It was only $20 per magazine. (cheaper than the gun store, I understand) It was a very nice, clean sterile environment, and the range master watched closely to make sure nothing went awry. Super nice and friendly staff (as long and you pretend you%26#39;re not a California liberal, hehehe) They had Thompson SMG, AK-47 7.65x39, M-16, British Sten, and an HK MP-5, and maybe some others, hand guns were also available.

Mike45LC: Planning on a trip in the spring. Maybe we can make it to the desert shootout.

Foxxy, sounds good to me. Due to family medical emergency, I%26#39;ve been in Vegas more often than not the last 9 months, and I really need to find a good outdoor range!

If you want to invite VegasMan along, I have Joe%26#39;s cell number, assuming it%26#39;s still good.

Mike45LC: I%26#39;m hoping April/May and I got the place. I%26#39;ll keep you informed. Sorry about the family problems. Had a few myself and that%26#39;s what kept me from Vegas in the fall.

Foxy: Let%26#39;s do it!
