Any opinions?
Signature vs. Wynn
I have not stayed at the Wynn so my view of it is only based on visiting the property. I was not impressed by Wynn. The Ferrari dealership and all the high-end places left me flat, like they are just trying too hard to say, ';you are at the Wynn, give up your money'; without offering up anything that really appealed to me.
One example was that I went out to see %26#39;The Mountain%26#39; or the Lake, or whatever they call it. I sat on PLASTIC FURNITURE that was cheaper than anything I%26#39;d have on a back patio, I ordered some sort of decent beer but was given some Miller-lite or something in a PLASTIC CUP - and watched an incredibly lame, boring video show over the lake/mountain thing. It was so lame.
All in all, my opinion of Wynn is that it tried hard to out-do Bellagio but did not succeed. Bellagio is a fantastic property which I really enjoy.
Signature is great if it fits what you%26#39;re looking for. The rooms/lobby area are great - you can tell from the web site. Service and the overall feeling are very personal. The connection to the MGM is via ';Studio Walk'; which is the highest-end part of the MGM. Yet even though the prices are high, it doesn%26#39;t seem to be a %26#39;Wynn-esque%26#39; style. The feeling more seems to be ';Here are lots of things that you will enjoy and we know you are going to spend lots of money, so we%26#39;re not worried about it.'; It%26#39;s a lot more %26#39;real%26#39; - and even in Vegas, you want something real if you%26#39;re going to be there for two or three days.
Anyway, that was the feeling that I had from the two places. You would have to see for yourself if the Wynn feeling appeals to you or not.
Signature vs. Wynn
Oh, snap! Poor Silas, it was nice knowing you, the Wynn boosters are going to tar and feather you any minute now!
I like Signature better also, but admittedly have not stayed at either.
I can%26#39;t comment on the Signature, but as someone who has stayed at the Wynn a few times, I have to say it%26#39;s my favorite hotel. I prefer their rooms to those at Bellagio, Mandalay Bay or the Venetian. The clean %26amp; modern styling really works for me, though I know others may perfer more ornate digs. The bathrooms are enormous, the beds %26amp; bedding are incredibly comfortable, the robes, slippers %26amp; turndown service- even in their basic Resort rooms! and the technological goodies like the flat screen TVs in the guestroom (plasma) %26amp; in the bathroom (LCD) and the electric sheer %26amp; curtain controls really make it a cut above anywhere else I%26#39;ve stayed.
It sounds like the Signature would be a very plush environment too. I would like the non-smoking aspect of the place but I%26#39;m not so sure about staying in a non-gaming property. Sicne it%26#39;s connected to MGM I would probably give it a shot if I got the right deal.
Also- I can%26#39;t believe anyone was given Miller rather than some un-named good beer they ordered at the Down Parasol Lounge. It%26#39;s true that the prices there are fairly high and I don%26#39;t remember being ';wowed'; by the furniture there (I think that%26#39;s the only place on the property where i don%26#39;t remember being wowed by the furniture- even the poker room sports the most comfortable chairs I%26#39;ve seen in a vegas poker room!), but I%26#39;m sure that they don%26#39;t cheat people on the drinks they order. If a server made a mistake she should have been informed of it.
I dont know how one can reply to this post if you have not stayed at both.
';I like the Signature better but I have not stayed at the Wynn...';
';I have not stayed at the Wynn, but I dont like it because it has a Ferrari dealership...';
Come on people.
Having stayed at both, I can say they are both great properties. The Wynn is beautiful and adds a little more excitement for me because its on the strip and I enjoy being in the casino. The pool is outstanding as well.
The Signature is great too especially if you are looking to save some money on food. Being able to make food in your room can you save you hundreds of dollars over the course of 3-4 days.
It depends on what you want. All the bells and whistles...stay at the Wynn. Nice room and relaxing hotel at a cheaper rate...stay at the Signature.
rcntly, one doesn%26#39;t have to have actually driven a car in order to have an opinion about whether it would be a good car for a friend to purchase. Similarly, I%26#39;ve spent enough time in Vegas and done enough research that I can form opinions about hotels I haven%26#39;t stayed at - I%26#39;ve seen the rooms, read reviews, talked to people who have stayed there, and been all over the properties.
That having been said, obviously the opinion of someone who has stayed at both properties is valuable and might be more helpful for someone trying to choose between the two. I%26#39;m glad you shared your thoughts with the OP, but please don%26#39;t tell me what posts I can and can%26#39;t respond to.
I have spent a significant amount of time trying to choose between the two, at one point I had reservations at both. One thing that I would consider is whether the Wynn room is a resort room or a tower suites room. The tower suites part of Wynn is like a separate hotel. I would go with a tower suites room (or a suite) over the stanadard room of any property in Las Vegas. I%26#39;d take a suite at Signature over a resort room at Wynn. Now as for a Junior Suite at Signature versus a Resort room at Wynn, that%26#39;s a harder decision. The Signature junior suite has the jacuzzi tub and a fridge, and many have balconies. The Wynn resort room is bigger (640 sq feet versus 553 sq feet at Signature.) If a view is important then you might want to consider the amount of construction going on at Encore.
Here are my thoughts on Wynn v. Signature. I’ll start by saying that both properties are special. If you don’t like the high-end shopping at the Wynn you can cross the street to the mall which has a wide variety of options. On the other hand, if you are at the MGM Signature you have a much closer proximity to the attractions at Mandalay Bay and New York New York. Ultimately, it would come down to whether I had the entire family with me (I’d pick the Signature) or just a romantic get away with my husband (I’d choose the suites at Wynn). The post above stating that a Tower room or suite at the Wynn is slightly preferable was accurate in my opinion. I love the Wynn, however, the standard Wynn resort room pails next to the size and comfort of the Signature Suites. Both properties are wonderful so you aren%26#39;t going to go wrong! (Opposite ends of the Strip) I love the pool at the Wynn and find the Wynn suites very romantic. By comparison, the Signature is priced right and is handy not to mention frugal if you have a group that would benefit from having the beautiful kitchen. NOTE: you can have your room ';stocked'; by having Von%26#39;s deliver groceries and wine for your stay. Both properties offer great service so enjoy!!!
