Dual Bachelor Party with 20 people

I%26#39;ve never been to Vegas, but I%26#39;m in the midst of planning a dual bachelor party for March 9-11. Since no one in the group has been, we desperately need the advice of those with more experience. I%26#39;ve been reading various posts on the forum to try to learn as much as I can, but I finally decided that if I posted all the relevant info about our group, I may find out what I%26#39;m looking for more quickly.

It%26#39;s a group of about 20 guys that are all in their mid 20%26#39;s. Most of us are in grad school, or do not have a tremendous amount of income, so if we could make the trip lower budget that would be best for everyone. We%26#39;ve booked a handful of suites at the Rio, and would like to try to keep the spending under $250 (not including hotel or what we%26#39;ve already spent in airfare) if possible.

We%26#39;re all college friends flying in from different areas of the country, so people will be getting in at various times on Friday afternoon/evening and then leaving at various times Sunday.

None of us in the group are real %26#39;clubbing%26#39; type. We could probably have fun at a club real late at night after several drinks, but before we get to that level of intoxication we%26#39;d probably have more fun at a dive type bar where the beers are cheap and they play classic rock type music or have live music.

Everyone going is a sports fan, and I think the weekend we%26#39;re there is the same weekend as many of the NCAA men%26#39;s basketball conference tournaments.

We%26#39;d like to hit up a strip club at least one of the nights, possibly both.

We plan to save some money by doing a substantial amount of drinking in the rooms before going out.

Everyone would like to do a little bit of gambling, both sports and casino, but no one is really hardcore.

Most of us are fairly clean-cut guys, but not gel-in-your-hair, shave-your-arms-and-legs type of guys and clearly we would enjoy places with lots of attractive women so long as we%26#39;re not paying out the nose for it.

Everyone going can hold their liquor and drink until the sun comes up, but probably won%26#39;t be motivated to do a hell of a lot during the day other than maybe some gambling or time at the pool.

Our biggest problem obviously is the number of people in the group. I suspect there will be some splitting up at times, but at night it%26#39;d be preferable if we could go places together.

I know there are some companies that will drive you around and get you into some bars and strip clubs for a certain fee, but I didn%26#39;t know if that was recommended or not.

It%26#39;d be good to have a loose itinerary before we get down there, but something strict would be a headache with this size of group and the level of drunkenness.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. If you need more info about us to make better suggestions, let me know.

Thanks

You give a lot of good info.

In a group of 20 people- you guys will get seperated. What I might suggest is trying to do dinners together and let everyone break off in groups during the day, and then get together at night. This will allow people to go off and see what they want to see. Let the Bachelor figure out where he wants to have his dinner at.

With a group of 20- I would check out the following book:

Las Vegas Little Black Book- A Guys Guide to the Perfect Vegas Weekend.

Read up on some of the hotels in the book and decide if there is any bars you may want to hit. It sounds like you want to avoid the night club scene, and would be happy going to a bar (Possibly at NYNY or TI). I have only been to the Rio once, so I am not sure what they have but it is covered a little in the book as well.

You can read up on the strip clubs as well. Strip Clubs are a little more pricey than elsewhere around the US. You may be able to get the cover charge waived if you find the right contact. We got that charge waived at Rhino. Of Course we dropped some cash once we were in the Rhino.

First of all, I think you made a good choice with Rio.

Second, a budget of $250 per person for two nights including meals, drinks, and gambling is pretty tight. You may want to spend some time gambling downtown where the limits are lower.

Third, it%26#39;s good that you%26#39;re not the clubbing type, because you will not be getting 20 guys into any of the hot nightclubs in Vegas without dropping large amounts of cash. However, there are plenty of bars that will be happy to accommodate you.

Fourth, with 20 guys I would definitely call strip clubs ahead of time and see what kind of arrangements they may be willing to make for you, such as waving cover charges. Go wherever you can get the best deal. Some of the popular ones to check out are Spearmint Rhino, Scores, Seamless, Treasures, and Olympic Garden.

Fifth, you can probably forget about the pool as it will not really be pool weather yet in early March.

If you already are at the RIO, one night should be at Voodoo lounge on the ';51st floor'; - there really are not 51 floors but that is another story- inside they have music and an expensive drinks their outdoor patio is what you go for- great strip view, usually lots of club girls, mind you drinks are expensive $12- for Red Bull Vodka - $5-7 for beer but if you get loaded in the room the price of admission $20 and a few beers is worth it.

As for a strip club. Go to Olympic Garden website - ogvegas.com

Write in your plans , then follow up with a call. You should get a comp limo or party bus on the house and they will likely waive your cover based on the size of your group.

As for food - plan on hitting a buffet for dinner - a group of 20 is ';banquet size'; and you don%26#39;t have budget for that.

Rio Buffet is good and will likely give yo a line pass if you call ahead and let them know you are bringing 20 (dinner buffet is about $20 per person)

Have set up meeting places for your group - for example let all know ';If you want to go downtown this afternoon - meet at 1pm at the Rio sports book - anyone left behind knows you are down town . Also have some guidelines for dinner times - breakfast etc.

No one wants that 5am call of - I went to bed drunk last night at 8 pm and now its 5am and I%26#39;m ready to go!

Eat Deli style places for lunch

DO NOT RUN one big bar tab and everyone will (not) pitch in later!

Set one or 2 rooms as the - meeting place for a set group of guys

BONUS - Cel phones work in Vegas - USE them!

I know how difficult it is to get a group together across the country, Good luck.
