Have you guys noticed....

the amount of recent posts asking when to book hotels/flights? After being on this forum for quite some time now I just noticed that almost daily that question comes up. Not complaining, just an observation.. anyone else notice that?

Have you guys noticed....

the same Q%26#39;s are repeated - not just about booking

most don%26#39;t/won%26#39;t use the search feature

the Q%26#39;s that amaze me are the ones asking things like purse v wallet, what to wear, what will the weather be in X, will i be happy if i decide to X.

no way anyone here can predict weather, knows a stranger well enough to determine if they will be happy with a decision and adults should know what shoes to wear, if they need a coat/bathing suit/jacket/purse

the pots that offer factual info such as side roads, new constrcution, size of bathrooms are valuable, and hopefully help people

the posts on ';hot'; machines and most gambling info is not just bad, but hurts people in the wallet. hot machines are non-existent and betting systems are stupid.

all of us are unique people with differing opinions and POV%26#39;s - which is exactly what public forums are for. everyone can use what they want and leave the rest.

Have you guys noticed....

It would be interesting if new, different and fun questions would show up.

In general, I guess I don%26#39;t mind the same questions:

where should we stay, eat, ect...

The ones that bother me are the FACTUAL questions.

does %26lt;xx%26gt; hotel have refrigerators or safes.

when do the pools open at %26lt;xx%26gt; hotel.

what toiletries are in %26lt;XX%26gt; hotel

etc...

Something that is much better to call or email the hotel directly.

I love

';what is the weather going to be like in April?... May?... June?... July?.................';

That just drives me nuts for some reason.

Hi Loveland!! I see so many posts on here that are the same questions asked repeatedly and sometimes even daily like this hotel vs that hotel etc. etc. But it is an information forum and I think people get so excited when planning thier trip they want to ask just about anything to make it seem that much closer- I felt that way when I first joined this place. What I really do not like are those that are just plain mean, sarcastic and downright rude when answering someones inquiry no matter how silly or inexperienced the question may seem. There are some wonderful seasoned Vegas travelers on here though that make visiting this place a pleasure like vp03 and Chitowngambler.

When are you going back BTW- and are you going to stay at your favorite Monte Carlo?

Shona ;-)

I agree with ya%26#39;ll.

A. Google is everyone%26#39;s best friend. It takes less time to google many of the common search questions (weather in April, what to wear, how to safely carry money) than it does to post here and await responses.

B. If Google isn%26#39;t being your friend, call the darn hotel, restaurant, airline, etc.! Again, it takes less time to call the hotel and ask about a fridge in a room than it does to ask hear and await responses. And by relying on us for important information, the person may end up disappointed when they arrive at their destination.

should I stay on the strip or downtown? Please tell me so I can make my reservations. Should I call the hotel directly or book on the internet??Should I use a third party booking?Should I try the 20.00 trick???and, should I take a cab or the shuttle???And how much should I tip???sorry but I miss all my friends who have been banned, folks who know more about Vegas than all of us combined.

The weather question is the absolute worst. Most of the other repeat question will get many different answers so a question asked today may have different answers than the same question asked yesterday. The friggin weather is one wont change from today to next week. If you want to know what the weather is like for any month look it up on weather.com or anyother site.

Shona, I agree with you 100%!!! I know the LV 4M was one I was kind of scared to ask a question on before, because I thought several people were so nasty!! Yes people do get excited and ask questions that have been asked lots of times before. I know I have done it and probably still do at times. I have tried to search for some things, but sometimes you end up with a ton of different things to go through. Some people might be new to 4M%26#39;s and might not even know about how everything works. I guess my feeling if if you don%26#39;t want to read or answer an often repeated question DON%26#39;T, but please don%26#39;t be nasty to someone who is just trying to learn!

JMHO

One more thing........I really appreciate ALL the helpful people here who are always ready to answer questions and help others have a really great trip. I know our trips the last several years have all been even better, because of all the great tips from people on the TA 4M%26#39;s!

This is a great resource!!

If you go back to the posts from 2004 you will find the same questions being asked. If you go to other forum web sites you will find the same questions. If everyone used the search button, google, telephoned the hotels directly, etc. there would be very little left of this forum. How many original questions are ever posted? When people ask about a hotel, restaurant, show they get other people%26#39;s opinions. Is that helpful?- maybe/ maybe not. You don%26#39;t know these people so how do you know if their tastes match your taste- you don%26#39;t!! If I see a post that concerns something I am tired of reading about- I just don%26#39;t answer. It is just as simple as that!! I am one of those people who will answer someone%26#39;s weather questions. So?? If I could make things a little easier for other people-why not?

Calling the hotel does not guarantee accurate information. Someone once asked if you had to pay to get to the TOW lounge. I called. I called 3 times in 5 minutes. The first answer- no, you do not. The second call- I think so( big help). The third call- yes, you do have to pay the fee. I didn%26#39;t bother calling again.
