monte carlo good or bad

The rooms are nice. The pool is great, but March 17 may still be alittle cold for the pool.

monte carlo good or bad

Well, I stayed at Monte Carlo back in August for a 2-night weekend stay. The hotel itself was nice. Our room was clean. Wish we had a coffee pot, though. We stayed on the 9th floor and heard no construction noise at all. The casino had a fresh smell to it. Tried going to the Brew Pub, and it was PACKED so we skipped it. Got food at their food court - it was BAD and expensive. The workers there were not friendly at the food court. The line for Starbucks in the morning was SO LOOOOONG. Skipped that, too. Tried to schedule a massage on Saturday for the same day, no openings all day. Instead, my girlfriend and I went down to the pool. Small pool area (compared to others in Vegas) and it was PACKED. Couldn%26#39;t even find two chairs together. Skipped the pool, too.

Overall, a nice hotel. I would stay here if the price was right again.

I was there a month ago and this place is really in a bad place right now. Construction noise, no parking (only on small surface lot), internal construction in food court area, and rooms (at least the three I was in) were in need of renovation. Also, the pool was torn up when I was there; not sure if it will be open by spring. Still might be ok if you get a REALLY cheap rate. Check the reviews...they%26#39;ll tell you the whole story.

I stayed at MC 1/18/07-1/22/07. I thought the place was great! Very beautiful. Yes it is surrounded by construction but when I checked in I asked for a room as far away from the construction as possible. I was checked into the 19th floor and room# 306. We had the view of the mountains and we overlooked the construction sight and Hwy 15. Yes I did hear the truck%26#39;s backup alarm at 6am but it was not that bad, I was on the 19th floor. Plus it was really 9am for me since I from the East coast. I only heard the noise the first morning but everything was quite over the weekend. I did not hear anything at night.

The rooms were very spacious and clean. The bathroom was nice and spacious but not grand. Everyone we came in contact with that worked in the hotel was very friendly and courteous. I am definately going to stay there again this summer.

I know the pool is now closed because of construction but the website said it woud reopen in Feburary sometime. You might want to check that out before you go.

Also keep checking back on your hotel rate. I saved $272 on mine. I checked to see if there were any rooms available right before we went out and the rate I got was $272 cheaper than what I booked. The hotel did honor new price so I stayed for 4 nights for $414!

I hope that helps you out.

Regarding the brew pub, I don%26#39;t know about the beer because I did not drink this trip but the food was good!

stayed at MC dec, just before christmas. was our first time there and really enjoyed it. nice spacious room. same for bathroom. only bugaboo is that tub was far too shallow to enjoy a nice hot bath. but we were just in the basic ';deluxe'; room, so a higher end room might have been nicer.

there are differing opinions on construction noise. we heard the beep-beep of the trucks around 6am, but didn%26#39;t bother us. we were usually getting up anyways. all you have to do is turn the fan on in the room. and it drowned out the noise. we faced the back of excailbur %26amp; nyny., and were on the 21st floor i believe. i could see the noise might be al ittle worse on the other side of the hotel, as that is where most of the construction was going on.

re: starbucks lineups. in the mornings, where have you NOT seen a ridiculously long line up for their brew?? *L*

only ate at the cafe and food was pretty good. reasonable. lots of items you can share b/tw two ppl. service was slow at times.

My favorite place to stay. Never had a bad experience with the people at the food court or anywhere else. Stayed there 3 times since June, with the last visit being in November. Personally was not bothered by the construction noise. Pool should be reopened mid March per my host, but who knows how warm it will be to use it.

I stayed there last month.

Pool - was closed but I knew that beforehand.

Construction outside - didn%26#39;t hear any noise from my 8th floor room.

Room - nicely decorated and clean but they shut the water off the first night without telling anyone. I had to crash with a friend at Hooters.

Bathroom - nice but the shower faucet had a loose screw. A hot shower would quickly become a scalding shower once gravity pulled the lever down. Front desk wouldn%26#39;t even send someone up with a screw driver so I could tighten it.

Buffet - was closed. Nobody knew why or when it would re-open.

Food Court - was open but there was no seating.

Drink service - one girl did her job while the rest stood around talking to each other.

Customer Service - non existent. It seems like MGM Mirage took every derelict in their employ and placed them at this property.

nycbiged- My husband and I always stay at the Monte Carlo- our 14th stay is coming up in May-we were last there in Oct, and the construction was in full force. We stayed on the concierge floor(32) and had a room facing the roller coaster at NYNY- the noise was not an issue at all. If you are on a lower floor or face the construction site you might hear some of the trucks, as mentioned. (not sure how much this will bother you since you seem to be from NYC-LOL)

I did speak to my host and make the suggesion that the hotel should set up the tv to play ';white noise'; or ';soothing sounds'; such as the ocean to help mask any noise that people might hear from their room-he thought it a great idea so who knows.....

As for the pool- as others have said, it is under construction and should be ready in early spring. March is very ';iffy'; for pool use- a bit chilly perhaps, but maybe nice enough to sunbathe for a little while-

The brew pub is a good place to grab a burger for lunch or dinner. I wasn%26#39;t sure if they were still brewing their own, so I just called and they aren%26#39;t. Not a big deal to us as we aren%26#39;t beer drinkers- I%26#39;ll still go there.

The rooms are fine- the rooms are on the concierge level might be a bit larger, but the standard floor rooms are nice also. The beds are incredibly comfortable, with pillow top mattresses.

We love the MC- (yeah getting comped helps-LOL) but we really do like the property. The staff has always been wonderful to us. They are friendly, courteous, and efficient.

We always rent a car and even with the construction going on we were able to get a spot in the small lot every time-

Feel free to ask any questions- Jan

BAD, BAD, BAD

(I have to start putting the MC down, or my favorite affordable luxury, and fun pool area, will become more popular, and the rates will go up)

Atta boy dk! I knew you%26#39;d chime in!
