What is a casino host?

Is it an Americanism? What do they do?? Scuse the Paddywhckery ignorance!

What is a casino host?

You get one if you gamble alot, their job then is to keep you happy so you will keep coming back to their facility! Once you have one, if you want to book a room at their hotel, call them, they will offer you the best deal and take care of everything for you. At most all casinos you can%26#39;t just ask and get one, you have to earn it........very expensive too!

Love your paddywhacker jive! A casino host is a person (in a casino) who either seeks you out because you gamble A LOT -and they want you to keep gambling a lot or that you seek out (in my case). They have more flexibility in giving you compe (that%26#39;s another post) that you have earned by gambling in their property, i.e. free rooms, food etc. You do not have to be a high roller to seek a host, but you do need to gamble or drop some money somehow. (not in just paying for rooms). A host is someone you visit on the way out of your stay to see what they%26#39;ll take off your bill.

Okay - that%26#39;s really a condensed version.

A host really can do a lot for you. We call ours whenever we are planning a trip to LV. We are frequent visitors. He arranges our rooms for us etc.

Helping at all? You%26#39;ll get some great answers....

At ANY casino you can ask to speak to a host. Either by going to the slot club or by just hitting the ';change'; sign on a slot machine or asking the pit poss.

Any casino in town is happy to have a host talk to you about your level of play and explain what, if any, comps might be available. If you%26#39;re play is at a sufficient level, the host will give you his/her card and invite you to contact them for planning future visits.

Correct, anyone can talk to a host to find out how it all works, having a host is entirely different, you know you have one when they hand you their business card.

Irish?

Whats a pit poss?

Pit boss oversees the dealers for a group of tables, will rate players, solve dealer mistakes. may watch for card counters, other types of cheating.

I just received a couple of cards from Flamingo and Ceasears casino host. Was out there for New Year%26#39;s and reached diamond level right before the end of the year. Not sure how to use the host. Will they comp free tickets for you such as Blue Man Group or Celine Dion? I play the slots a lot but am not a high roller. But I did win a few thousand but also lost a ton. My husband uses my card as well to play. Will they comp food too. Thanks in advance for replying.

A Pit Boss is someone you don%26#39;t want to run into when you inadvertently walk past the velvet ropes just looking for your husband...

they look mean up close!

Jo- call your host when you want to return. They%26#39;ll make your arrangements. Depending on your level of play, they may give you something off your room up front (possibly more at the end also) Charge everything to your room. Inquire about whatever tickets you want, %26#39;are you able to get us tickets for...'; Don%26#39;t know if they%26#39;ll not make you pay...

WOW! I love this forum! I%26#39;ve been going to Vegas every year since 1988 and I just learned something!! THANK YOU!

I%26#39;ve had hosts from MGM, TI, Paris/Bally%26#39;s, Lauberge DuLac (in Lake Charles) all give me their cards................In EVERY instance I%26#39;ve thought, ';oh how sweet! They are soooooooo nice!'; But I never realised that they were giving me the cards for ';host'; purposes! *duh*! Yes, I%26#39;m blond, but I%26#39;ve always thought of ';high-rollers'; with hosts.....Yes, I get free rooms all over the strip but I usually just call casino marketing after I%26#39;m e-mailed or mailed an offer.

QUESTION: I%26#39;m going back Feb. 25 - March 1. Staying in a ';GO'; room at Flamingo for two nights, and MGM for two nights. (free) Should I call the gentleman at MGM who gave me his card and inquire about my reservation...even though I%26#39;ve ALREADY made reservation thru casino marketing? The room is free anyway, but do you ';experts'; think he may be able to do anything more?
