best las vegas steak - money and atmosphere aside???

Best steak hands down is at the Stratosphere Hotel ';Top of the World Restaurant'; (make sure you make a reservation you don%26#39;t want to wait in line forever) restaurant. I went there for my birthday and my boyfriend and my steak was sooooo good, it was like butter!!! We live in vegas now and I haven%26#39;t heard of any other good places...I haven%26#39;t heard how good Circus Circus is... I definitely wouldn%26#39;t go there unless I had kids, places I recomend to stay at is either The Palms if your young, MGM is cool I like hanging out there...if you want to go on the cheaper side Sam%26#39;s Town is great and I go to their salon and the people that work there are great!!!!! Oh and Billy Bob%26#39;s Steakhouse I have heard is good and reasonable!!! How did I go from steak to salon??? I think I know too much about this town now... if you want to find more restaurants in Las Vegas go to http://www.igrubb.com it will show you all of them!!!!! I use it quite often because it has really good maps, and sometimes people post comments and photos too...

I think you may well be the only poster on this Forum who thinks the best steak in Las Vegas is at the Strat...

Gallaghers in NY NY

Hugo%26#39;s Cellar in 4Queens Freemont Street

Also Heard Prime at the Belliagio we will try that in May

No offense but this is further proof of the pointlessness of such ';best'; posts.

Both Gallagher%26#39;s and Prime have presented me with two of the least memorable steak dining experiences in Vegas (Gallagher%26#39;s for repeatedly undercooked steaks for my friend -- as in 4 straight!) and Prime for serving a ribeye ';steak'; that was essentially a slab of roast beef.

I%26#39;ve been to N9NE twice in a week and had the perfect steak the first night and one so tough I had to send it back the second night. I used to love Smith %26amp; Wollensky until they served us bone-in ribeyes that seemed to have more fat than meat.

And TOW for best steak? That%26#39;s a first.

The point is, you can get a great steak (or a bad steak) at just about any place. Better to read reviews on TA and other sites (especially ones with professional reviewers) than rely on random posters to the Forum. And that includes me!

This is why many of us look to the source of the ';best'; information. A lot of inforamtion can be found in everything else a poster thinks is good.

In VEGAS, all the places use the same cut of meat.

U are paying for atomspehre , advertising, and owners new Mercedes for the girl friend.

C%26gt;C%26gt; has a long reputation for decent food at reasonable prices.

A steak house away from the STRIP may be the better way to go.

Research on the internet.

come back with names for a new round of suggestions.

I always make at least 1 visit too OUTBACK steak house by the RIO Casino.

Order their best steak at 1/2 the price of anyone else.

Try a FOSTERS Large MUG with dinner.

Need I say more?

Roy%26#39;s has a mean ribeye

is there a Flemings in Vegas?

Also China Grill at Mandalay has an awesome ribeye but not a huge selection

also Prime is awesome but mucho expensive

I don%26#39;t care how good the steak at Circus Circus is, I would never go near than place, it gives me the creeps

When we were in Vegas we had a steak dinner in Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris hotel that was fabulous. The fillet steaks were done to perfection as we ordered them and I swear you didn%26#39;t need a knife to cut them. To add to the pleasure of the meal the atmosphere was charming and the staff were excellent. I would definitely go there again on my next trip.

I agree that any place can serve you a great steak one night and a awful steak the next (happened to me at Ruth%26#39;s Chris locally).

That being said, in LV I%26#39;ve eaten at Prime 5 times since April %26#39;05 and my husband and I had wonderful steaks 4 out of 5 times. The one time it was not so good we took the waiters suggestion to have our medium well filets butterflied. Our usually tender steaks were a little tough and overcooked.

Always remember - if it ain%26#39;t good send it back politely!
