Hello -
I am planning a trip to Vegas for July 26 - 31. I keep hearing about great deals from 70 - 100 / night at some nice hotels.
Should I wait closer to the date before booking a room, will the rates go down since its the summer - or should I book now?
thanks!
july trip, book now or wait?
Book now and then keep monitoring the rates and sign up for email updates from the hotel. As July is a relatively quiet month there%26#39;ll almost certainly be cheaper promotional rates for your stay released nearer the time. Just call the hotel and they%26#39;ll honor the new lower rate. Nothing to stop you doing this several times right up to the day you leave for Vegas.
If rates go up (unlikely but not impossible) you%26#39;ll be guaranteed the rate you originally booked at.
july trip, book now or wait?
What Blagger said. Check rates all the time even when you are checking in, ';is this the best rate available?';
thank you for the advice!
Can I still do that if I book through Expedia? Or do I need to book directly through the hotel?
In order to get the best rate you have to go through the hotel- We are going in July as well
This only applies if booking direct. If you%26#39;re using a third party like Expedia your contract is with them not the hotel and once you%26#39;ve booked the price is set in stone.
90% of the time it pays to book directly with hotel and not just for this reason. Increased chance of nicer room, possible upgrade etc
