I`m going to vegas in may for my wifes 30th birthday.Could anyone recommend somewhere really nice to eat? As it was a special birthday i was thinking perhaps the stratospheres top of the world restaurant,or i`ve read there is a bar/restaurant in Bellagio overlooking the fountains.Bearing in mind that we are not looking for a` la carte food, just good old fashioned steaks etc,etc.Thanks.

How much roughly are you looking to spend? The choice of restaurants is immense. For example you refer to the Bellagio fountains - there%26#39;s several restaurants that fit that description from Prime, where you%26#39;ll get your steak as good as anywhere as well as have an unforgettable evening but you%26#39;ll pay in excess of $100 per person (it could be a lot more with wine etc) to Mon Ami Gabi across the street but still with a great view where you%26#39;ll pay a lot less for acceptable but not sensational food.
Top Of The World has a great view but food isn%26#39;t sensational and a bit overpriced.

For the best views of the strip as well as excellent food and service the best 2 restaurants imo are Alize at the Palms, and Mix down at Mandalay Bay.
You will pay $100.00 + per person, but for an unforgetable experience they cant be beat.
The Stratosphere Top of the World restaurant is also good with great views, especially if you go just as day is turning into night.
Food imo is better than most people say,or at least was on my trip up there.
Again expect to pay $100.00 or more depending on drinks.
If you just want a great restaurant with a great view of the Bellagio fountains, then any of the top restaurants at the B should be fine.
John.
I ate at Mix and it cost about $130 for two people (2 entrees, one appetizer shared, and two cocktails.) The view is amazing, would take Mix over Top of the World any day.
jackandsally, can you reserve or at least ask for a table in Mix by the window that looks north up the strip.
The reason I ask is we are thinking of going there before dusk to see the sunset and watch the strip light up while having a drink ,and then having dinner with a view of the strip at night.
We hope to do this on our first night for the WOW factor, thanks in advance.
Hugo%26#39;s Cellar at Four Queens (downtown). It is faboulous! You won%26#39;t have a view, but you will have a wonderful, romantic meal and dining experience. They give each a lady a rose upon arrival. Salad w/ meal is made to your liking in front of you. Best salad!! They have great steaks and prime rib and chocolate dipped desserts! Can%26#39;t go wrong! All the best!
