we were just talking blackjack at work and seeing who would split a pair of 10%26#39;s (10/j/q/k) against a dealer who has breaking hand (2/3/4/5/6) showing.
playing blackjack--do you split 10's against a dealer 5 or 6
I wouldn%26#39;t do it. Two 10%26#39;s is a good hand. Why would you want to mess with it? Just because the dealer is not showing a face card doesn%26#39;t mean they are going to bust.

No! never split 10%26#39;s nor do you spilt 5%26#39;s, everyone at the table will cringe
The reason to split 10%26#39;s has not been invented yet!
I%26#39;m afraid you%26#39;ve taken one too many leaps, Lambeau man. Please do alot more study of BJ strategy before giving your money away. Splitting 10%26#39;s is the biggest bad play there is. Unless you are a professional advantage player in a very strong plus count in certain circumstances. But I kind of think you%26#39;re not.
only reason to split 10%26#39;s would be to get more money on the table. Why blow a good hand though. I would not split that.
Could see some cocky SOB do it though.
This very topic was raised at our BJ table on New Years at MGM. Dealer Chuck in the no-smoking pit, fantastic guy, kept repeating his mantra ';Grandpa said don%26#39;t ever split 10%26#39;s, never ever!'; whenever anyone even hinted at the idea! A few went against his granddaddy%26#39;s advice and invariably got burned.
We had the best afternoon I%26#39;ve ever had l playing BJ, due in large part to Chuck and his granddaddy%26#39;s sage advice!
STATEREF--YOU SAID IT BEST--THE RULE HAS NOT BEEN INVENTED YET. a couple of guys at work were arguing about it and i knew the best way to get opinions of others was to post it on TA
any other opinions would be appreciated TO ARGUE MY POINT THAT YOU SHOULD NEVER SPLIT 10%26#39;S
I%26#39;d run away from something like that. The splitting of tens that is.
