Bally's

I will be in Vegas the second week of April. We are staying at Bally%26#39;s for the second time. However, the first time was 5 or so years ago. I was curious as to what the hotel rooms are like now. Have they been remodeled lately? If not is there a wing or tower that has better rooms than others?

I spend very little time in the room to begin with. As long as I don%26#39;t get the one with the broken A/C again I should be fine.

Also, how hard is it to get a room facing the strip. Is that something that I should get noted on the reservation? Or is tipping the check -in person my best option? Since I have never done this before what is the standard acceptiable amount?

Thanks In Advance,

J

The north tower has been remodeled more recently, but if you ask nicely at check-in for one of the ';newer rooms'; they%26#39;ll know what you mean.

Don%26#39;t worry too much if you end up with a south tower room. In my experience the furniture and bathrooms are older, but there are a few perks to the rooms there-

Some have full wet bars with small refridgerator

Some include a nice dressing area with a mirror outside the restroom so someone can put on makeup while someone uses the actual restroom

They are more likely to have a better view, though none of the views are Bally%26#39;s are great since the property was built well before the fountain show was created.

I actually wish I would have opted for a south tower room on my last trip. Our choice was that or a handicap accessible room. I took the latter and found the shower set-up to be a hassle. The whole bathroom floor was flat so a wheelchair could enter the shower, but that meant we got water on the floor out by the toilet even with the curtain closed completely. I was even more frustrated by the decided lack of mirrors. I have to admit, though, I could actually see the center portion of the fountain show with the words %26#39;Bellagio%26#39; on the building top behind them.

I stayed at Bally%26#39;s twice in January, in the North Tower each time. Each room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had an assortment of amenities. Be aware that even the higher floors facing Flamingo Road are exposed to street noise at all hours - might be a consideration. Strip views are not great from Bally%26#39;s. Bally%26#39;s has a great location, the monorail if you dare, and Paris next door. Check out the renovation to Aladdin while you%26#39;re visiting. Real good untypical Mexican food at Tequila Bar and Grill, and great

R%26amp;B/soul at Indigo lounge. No guarantees of any particular room when making the reservation. Ask when you get to the desk. Don%26#39;t forget Ellis Island%26#39;s steak dinner special - an easy walk from Bally%26#39;s.
