Best options for seeing boxing in vegas

Going to Vegas to suprise husband - want to take him to boxing match (Berrera, Mayweather, etc.) - is it best to stay @ hotel where fight is located or is it better to stay away from that hotel (is the cost savings worth it?) We are pretty flexible on timing - but it will probably have to be over a weekend due to fight schedules - help. Never been to Vegas before . . .

We%26#39;ve been to two different fights, one on ESPN and one on some Mexican cable network and didn%26#39;t stay at the hosting casino for either, but neither was a big fight. We bought tickets ahead of time online. I don%26#39;t think there%26#39;s any advantage staying at the hotel where the fights are.

If you want a big name fight, expect to pay $150 for the nosebleeds. We%26#39;ve seen a fight downtown (ESPN) and paid about $30 for the good seats (10th row). We also watched some fights at The Orleans and paid about $40 each for seats (about 10th row). The Orleans usually has fights every month and is a good value IMO.

Here are two sites that have upcoming fights:

One more good link is:

Once there, select the ';Calendar'; button. Guilty Boxing has their schedule listed through August, but they don%26#39;t list who%26#39;s fighting yet.

We were in Vegas last month when there was some fight at Paris, (I don%26#39;t know anything about boxing so can%26#39;t elaborate). My husband and friend inquired on ticket prices and they were $300-$500 and those weren%26#39;t even good seats! She said the $300 tickets we%26#39;d be better off watching it on tv. lol Needless to say they skipped the fight.
