Car rental in Las Vegas ????

Looking to rent a car for 9 days for pickup and dropoff at the Las Vegas airport. I remember renting a car from Budget about 5 years ago and taking care of the paperwork at the airport, then being shuttled off site to pick up the car. I believe I rented a mid sized car and was actually able to choose from about fifteen cars that were in a certain location on that lot. The keys were in all of the cars. I thought that was great! My question is, what other rental companies at Las Vegas airport let you do this? Thanks!

Thrifty was similar, although I think the reason we got to choose is because they didn%26#39;t have enough mid-sizes available so they let us choose an upgrade car.

Whatever company you choose will probably have a ';club'; you can join for free and skip the airport line and go directly to the lot to pick up your car. Even if you never use it again it is worth filling out the info online at your leisure.

If you are looking to compare prices Southwest airlines has a good web site for doing it. You don%26#39;t have to fly Southwest to look for a rental, but it has the best site I have found for comparing prices.

Some people who post here swear by priceline for a good deal on car rentals too.

Thanks for the info! I will checkout Southwest. But I was mainly interested in being able to choose my own car from a lineup in the lot and was curious if any companies other than Budget allow this?

I have been having really good luck with Dollar lately.

Like PRZYK states you have to join a car rental club to pick your car ,i belong to Emerald Isle club at National %26amp; Wizard Club at Avis, and i get to pick whatever car.

When I got into Vegas about 10:30 pm on a Sunday night in November the Dollar lot was completely empty. They were bringing cars that had just been returned, still dripping wet from being washed, so I was happy to get the little white one they gave me, whatever it was. There was no choice. I don%26#39;t know how often they get that busy.

I always rent with dollar and they have always offered me any car in a certain row (intermediate, full size, whatever i booked). I joined the dollar fast lane program and filled in my info online (driver%26#39;s license #, cc #, etc.). That way you can go directly to their shuttle bus after collecting your bags. (The line at the airport counter always seems long!) When you get to Dollar, go to the blue canopy in the parking lot and they will already have your contract ready and point you to the row where you can select your car. Once the row only had one car and it was not the Dodge that I booked but an old looking Honda or something, and I said %26#39; this isn%26#39;t what i booked ... what else do you have for the same rate?%26#39; and he pointed me to the row of pt cruiser convertibles. No problems at all. Not sure if that was because I was a %26#39;fast lane%26#39; member. Also, as a member you can upgrade at the canopy for 1/2 price the normal upgrade fee that is applicable for that day.

Thank again for the responses! Any other rental car companies other than Budget %26amp; Dollar that let you choose any car in a certain row in the lot ???

I%26#39;ve never picked a car in the way you have explained. But I am a frequent renter of cars.............And Enterprise has always been the cheapest............Rented from LV airport 2 wks ago and rcvd free upgrade also to an SUV.

Have fun.

Dollar and Thrifty have let us select our cars.

However, on our last trip, Enterprise was the cheapest, but they brought our car out to the area where we were told to wait. That was fine with us, too. The price was great.
