We would like to try eating at least one time at the Ellis Island , the reviews on here say the food is cheap and great----my question is how to get from Paris Hotel over to EI, the easiest way for two 60 yrs. old that is, or would a cab be the way to go? we are able to walk no problem there, but if its a mile or more forget it, walking would be out.
easiest way to Ellis Island?
Take a cab, it is about a half mile from Paris. Just go North on Las Vegas Blvd, make a right on Flamingo and a right on Koval and Ellis Island is on your left hand side.
easiest way to Ellis Island?
We stayed at the Barbary Coast and walked down Flamingo, turned right on Koval. It is a brisk 12-15 minute walk. We walked to Ellis several times, and it was not a problem. We walked in the day-time hours only.
From Paris walk up to the Barbary Coast.
Turn right on East Flamingo and walk for about 15 minutes and its on your left.
Its approx a mile.
Taxi would only be around $6.00. (remembering there is over 3 bucks on the meter when you get in)
John.
I walked it in August in the evening (female/alone) and I had no problems. The distance is not that far so a cab would be cheap if you don%26#39;t want to make that walk.
-thanks everyone for the info.....we will probably just take a cab over. Thanks again
it is cheap - it is not great. personal opinion.
instead of spending money on a cab for this trip - which would be about 20 -25r/t - why not use that money towards a much better meal and save yourself the time and trouble.
it is a 24/7 coffeeshop - old, dirty and not worth a special visit. yes, you can get a mediocre $5 steak - but to spend 25 on transportation specifically for this would not be my idea of a good value. up to you guys. you have lived over 60 years - do you really need to see one more dirty diner?
I say go through Paris to Ballys, exit on the side of Bally%26#39;s. Then turn right and walk to Koval. You will go past Westin Casurina and come to a light at Koval, cross the street and make a right, you%26#39;ll see it. Not a bad walk as others have said, cutting though Paris and Ballys will make it seem a bit shorter! I suggest going at an off hour, 2:00-3:00 and there will be no wait! We went for breakfast and around 8:30 too and no wait. Good luck!
I%26#39;d feel kind of silly taking a cab to a place where the cab fare is more than the meal. Kind of defeats the purpose. I agree with the poster who said to spend the money on a nicer meal.
Whether you walk or take a cab, definitely GO there for a meal. Only YOU can decide whether the food is worth the trip. Just like every other thing on this board, there are differing opinions.
Be sure to let us know how you liked it.
