hi! what is the distance in time between these? is it a hard drive to do in august?

It%26#39;s about 275 miles. That route goes through the high desert and mountains but since you%26#39;ll be going in August you shouldn%26#39;t have a problem.

you can use Tusayan, AZ for the Grand Canyon and Cortez, CO for Mesa Verde when mapping your route.

Grand Canyon Village to Mesa Verde visitor center will be a 6 hours drive. It%26#39;s an easy drive and if you can, make a sidetrip to Monument Valley, Gooseneck SP, Moki Dugway, Muley Point and Natural Bridges NM. Takes a second day though.

We did Mesa Verde also rode the train from durango, its a busy place and fun so if you are going to stay in durango book a downtown motel by the train depot and then you can walk around the place.. If you never been to Mesa Verde you will love it , it is amazing but about a 40 minute drive to the ruins from the entrance so plan accordinly and get there early and buy your ticket or go online and check out what you want to see.. Grand canyon was a easy drive we came in from the East and you could stop at rim views and boy had I forgotten how super.. But the place was crowded even in September with school in .. WE did stay at the Best Western but would have preferred Rim view.. Also Mule ride was sold out for the time we were there.. This was the best part of our trip Nature wise Have Fun
