Does anyone know if the Hoover Dam tour is the full tour, taking you through the whole facility, like it was before hightened security? I%26#39;ve heard that the tour does not take you through the entire power plant and tunnels and such now. Is this true? The wife has not been since she was a kid, and I dont want to go if I cant see the whole thing again. Thanks
Hoover dam tour
went on the tour last Easter and an extra part had been opened up that day. We went to the generator room (or at least above it so we could see the generators) and I%26#39;m sure we went down further and went along a tunnel to another room, hope this is not too vague.
Hoover dam tour
As you might imagine the tour has changed since 9/11. When we first took the tour in 1991, you went down one of the elevators next to the road in the middle of the dam. We also went out side at the bottom of the dam in the spillway. Now you go down an elevator at the Nevada side of the dam and while you still tour the same sights ang go through a couple of tunnels, you don%26#39;t go to the spillway. All in all, still an enjoyable tour and the new visitor center is beautiful. Make sure you rub the statues feet for good luck. Not that I really believe in all that junk, but when it comes to Las Vegas, I%26#39;ll take all the good ju-ju I can get....
