Incapable of making decision.

So I%26#39;m driving my husband crazy and he is now totally ignoring me regarding this July LV trip.

I%26#39;ve narrowed our hotel decisions down to - the Flamingo, Bally%26#39;s, Luxor, or Mandalay Bay.

I%26#39;m most concerned about a GREAT pool area, location, and reasonably priced food. I%26#39;m not too much of a gambler, but love to shop!

Any suggestions?

Incapable of making decision.

Well, you can%26#39;t have it all. You%26#39;re not going to get a great location at Mandalay, for example, even though it has a great pool. Not sure what you mean by ';reasonably priced food';, every property on the Strip has a variety of places to eat including fast food up to fine dining.

Of the places you mention, I%26#39;d go with Flamingo. ( I personally prefer Ballys over Flamingo but the pool at Ballys is not very good)

Incapable of making decision.

Best shopping and pool combo, Flamingo..but oldest property

Ballys is good, not as old, connected to Paris, central, has a fairly large regular rectangle pool with a deep end...pool seems to have a nice ';vibe'; , when I walk past it to the monorail station

Mandy has a free monorail up to Tropicana, gateway to strip, and the pools are tops, the buffet is the best value for quality in town at breakfast and lunch..also many, many other food choices in Mandy and the connected Luxor

Pools, best on down, Mandy, Flam,Luxor, Ballys

Closest to shopping, best to least; Flamingo, Ballys, Luxor, Mandy

Nice room; Mandy, then Ballys/Luxor, then Flam standard room..Flam GO rooms are remodeled, but overpriced

Coolest looking place at a good value, Luxor..good eating at the connected Mandy, and nice big bright pool area

Ok...you%26#39;re going in July, so yes pool is way important. I love the Flamingo, it%26#39;s old beautiful landscaping, lots of wildlife,...I think they got rid of the penguins though....and just makes you think you%26#39;re a world away from the strip. The hotel is center to all the action, but rather small casino and I hear people complain about some of the rooms...how to get the newer rooms rather than the old, I%26#39;m not sure. But for nostalgia and old time Vegas charm, this place is it !

Mandalay bay, what a beautiful property...and yes, the pool area is fun fun fun. You%26#39;ll have many restaurant choices, lots of casino space, and my personal favorite about this place...ENTERTAINMENT!! Check for concerts that will be going on the week you are there....and especially the Mandalay bay beach concert series that goes on in the summer. Wear your shorts and swimsuit to the beach, dig your toes in the sand, and enjoy the music.

I%26#39;d pick one of these two, and ignore the rest.

You should book at Mandalay Bay. I stay here every summer because of the pool- and it is well worth it. As far as location is concerned- MB is not bad because you can get a free tram from MB to Excalibur (which puts you at the MGM, NYNY corner). Also MB has great food and shopping. I just love it!

I have heard that the Luxor pool is fine, but nothing special and Bally%26#39;s isn%26#39;t supposed to have a great pool. Flamingo might be nice (very old school tropical feel in their pool area) especially if you get one of their new To Go rooms.

Have fun on your trip!

Well if a pool is a big concern, you just eliminated Luxor. The pool is OK at Luxor, but nothing compared to Flamingo and MB

Should have added if resonable priced food and shopping is the second most important thing then your choice is narrowed down to Flamingo because it close to all the shopping and reasonable priced food joints

Forgot to mention Bally%26#39;s, pool is BORING and SEDATE. Only positive thing to say about it is it has a deep-end.

';Forgot to mention Bally%26#39;s, pool is BORING and SEDATE.';

Not to mention on the small side, and the chairs are packed in like sardines on the deck. I%26#39;ve only been once, but it was pretty ugly with people trying to find places to sit and arguing back and forth about who was there first etc.

Irish Fan, I agree with what you are saying, but at the more popular pools in JULY will be even worse with crowds. Really no-way to win if you are a pool seeker unless you are willing to get up early and stake your claim or pay through the nose for a cabanna.

Yes - most if not all hotel pools will be crowded in July. I was pointing out Ballys is even worse in that regard than other places because of the small size of the pool deck and the placement of the chairs.

(I usually do the cabana thing myself)

...and isn%26#39;t there an issue with the Toni Braxton sign putting a haze on the view from the windows at the Flamingo?
