Walking from Flamingo to Palms

About how far is the walk from Flamingo to Palms? Is it safe during day and night? Or is there a preferred method of transportation between the two?

Walking from Flamingo to Palms

It is a lot further than you think. We took the bus next to Ceasars.

Walking from Flamingo to Palms

It%26#39;s a long walk. Lots of traffic and major freeway on and off-ramps. Also, sometimes some unsavory characters (and some savory ones) may be lurking around.

You should walk down to Bally%26#39;s and take the free shuttle to the Rio. Just cross the street to the Palms.

If you have to walk, I wouldn%26#39;t do it at night. I%26#39;ve done it during the day, but as mentioned above, it%26#39;s a lot further than it looks.

I walked it a couple of weeks ago from the Flamingo where i was staying, and it took me 15 minutes approx.

I am a fast walker though,so depending on your fitness and speed it may take a bit longer.

I have also walked to ther Rio a few times, and never had any problems.

Yes there is a lot of traffic at times, but then the Strip is always jam packed with traffic so not much difference imo.

John.

We walked it - took longer than 15 mins - didn%26#39;t feel unsafe. Just disappointed with the Palms. A lot of hype over nothing IMHO.

I agree with Sue 100%........Palms is VERY overrated. Very small casino with a closet sized poker room. We took a cab there one time just to see it, walked around and within 5 minutes back in the cab.

The Palms is disappointing? I didn%26#39;t want to hear that. The Palms is one of the casinos on my ';must do'; for the next trip.

I have never been to

Palms

Hard Rock

Cannery

Riviera

Stratosphere

I need to see them before they no longer exist !

Don%26#39;t waste your time. I wasn%26#39;t even offered a drink while playing VP.

I wouldn%26#39;t do that walk at night. In some areas the sidewalk is narrow and there is a lot of traffic on Flamingo; once you leave the strip there really isn%26#39;t anything there so it is very very dark and you have to cross two highway ramps. One of them does have a crossover type thing but it curves out - far away from the street with no lights- I think that is the part that would make me nervous. Use the shuttle bus to get to the Rio then cross to the GC and then cross to the Palms. Or take the GC shuttle. The Rio shuttle runs later into the night. Or just take a cab- it can%26#39;t be very expensive.

First off - I love the Palms. And my trips there are always during the day, as I am a moring gal. I usually take the shuttle from Barbary Coast to the Gold Coast, then walk across the street to the Palms...on the return, I take the Palms shuttle back to Caesars%26#39;. This requires some planning, as the Palms shuttles run on a somewhat restricted schedule. You can also take the CAT buses back and forth for roughly the same cost as a tip to the shuttle driver, if public trans doesn%26#39;t freak you out. Just tell the driver which casino you%26#39;re heading to - they%26#39;ll generally make sure you don%26#39;t miss the stop. GENERALLY.

Have fun - see EVERYTHING while it%26#39;s still there!

Is it true that the Palms makes you PAY for drinks? I was horrified when at a casino in Niagara Falls, the cocktail waitress had me pay for my drink when she brought it! I%26#39;ve NEVER had that happen anywhere...but my husband heard that the Palms makes you pay, too. SURELY that%26#39;s not true!!??!!??
