We%26#39;ve never eaten at this place, which I believe is a chain that we don%26#39;t have here in the East. Looking for an Italian place, not too expensive, to satisfy both my ';Eye-talian'; husband and two kids, ages 21 and 14, off strip for the Saturday night we arrive in Vegas. We%26#39;ve been to Macaroni Grill, etc.,--is Bucca anything like this? Or does anyone have any other recommendations? We don%26#39;t want fancy or expensive for this first night as we%26#39;ll be dealing with jet lag, etc.
Is Bucca de Beppo restaurant any good?
they have this restaurant in Philly, I%26#39;ve never been but I%26#39;ve heard it%26#39;s good. Maybe if you don%26#39;t get any responses that satisfy you, you can go to the philly forum and ask there.

I have been to Buca%26#39;s in Milwaukee and the food is very good. They serve huge portions, so you can order one salad and 2 or 3 entrees for the 4 of you. The entrees are expensive, but intended to feed more than one person, so not expensive per person if you share.
It%26#39;s a fun place and kids usually like it.
It is a chain restaurant. The food is decent and the setting will be fun for your children. I think the portions are much larger than Macaroni Grill.
The only one I have been to is
2941 North Clark Street
Chicago, IL 60657
And the food was awful. I got the special pizza of the day. I guess being from Chicago, we can%26#39;t eat non Chicago based pizza.
They%26#39;ve had them your general area but they close down pretty quick.
Very good food- quite popular here in Orlando. One dish will serve 2-3 people. Great place to go in a large group because the serve family style.
Perhaps I am just spoiled because I live in a big city, but I think Buca is just low quality, middle America crap served on a plate. The portions are large. Food is served family style. It%26#39;s casual and would be fine for families with children and young people. Because it is served family style, I do not think it%26#39;s a terribly cheap dinner. With all the wonderful non-chain restaurants, especially the inexpensive ones in Vegas, I will never understand why people want to eat at a chain.
yes.
At Buca the good food is really good, but the bad is average to terrible. I love the margherita pizza which is a little sweet but tastes just like the stuff I had in small unknown-to-tourists pizzerias in Rome. I%26#39;d love to try the other flavors, but the margherita is so good I never get the chance. They also just added gnocchi to the menu which I really want to try but know I can%26#39;t finish alone. The salads with prosciutto and gorgonzola are addicting. The lemon chicken is pretty plain, and the spaghetti bolognese or con polpette tastes like vomit to me. However, that%26#39;s what most of those wonderful authentic meat sauces made by old ladies in Italy tasted like too, so I guess it stays true to its roots. And the cannoli with chocolate Sambuca sauce is always irresistible too.
It%26#39;s definitely better than Macaroni Grill. You%26#39;ll be able to find something appealing on the menu, and although it is served family-style, I have no problem devouring the good dishes myself.
what does '; but the bad is average to terrible'; mean?
