Super Bowl Bets -Observations from Chicago

I am sure the sports books in Las Vegas will be humming this Sunday

Around Chicago, a lot of folks are wearing Bears stuff today, hats, coats, scarves, sweatshirts, etc.

I have seen no painted faces around town, not yet anyway.

The phrase “Go Bears” is exchanged like a greeting.

At night, the lights are turned on in some downtown high rise office buildings spelling out Super Bears and Go Bears!

The lion statues at the Art Institute are wearing Bears’ hats and so in the Picasso statue.

Locals and visitors alike are asking each other the all important question, not will they win the Super Bowl, but where will you be on Sunday, where will you be watching the game.

A lot of people are holding parties and the bars will do a lot of business.

They are going to have extra cops on duty to catch drunk drivers after the game.

A big boat show is closing early on Sunday since everyone will be watching the game instead and no one is expect to attend during the game.

In general, an air of expectation sits on the city and everyone is holding their breath until Sunday.

We will know in a few more days........................

Super Bowl Bets -Observations from Chicago

Im jealous. That is how it was here last year in Seattle and it was almost like the Friday before the game was a holiday at work, noone was doing work just getting more and more excited for the game.

That being said, I have so much dislike for both teams this year I may go skiing instead. I cant cheer for either team to win. Is there anyway they can both lose? :)

Super Bowl Bets -Observations from Chicago

I predict Da Bears 80, the Colts 6 (just like the temp differences between Chicago and Miami will be on Sunday)....Also, Da Coach makes a surprise appearance and runs for 2 touchdowns

GO BEARS!!!

You do realize that Indy is gonna kick da Bears collective arse right? I mean, after all, your QB is Rex Grossman! Rex Grossman!!!

Sorry, but there ain%26#39;t no defendin that.

Colts win 23-14

I heard all about the rear kicking the NO Saints and their best in the NFC Offense were going to dish out as well. Didn%26#39;t seem to play out that way though.

Lets just hope for a good entertaining game, its nice to have no teams from the left or right coast in it anyway - I am tired of the NE Pats. !

Could not get 2 more deserving coaches and programs IMO...

GO BEARS !

';its nice to have no teams from the left or right coast in it anyway';

Thats why this will end up being the least watched least talked about Superbowl in a long time. Even leading up to this game I am not seeing the hype that most Super Bowls get, at least here on the Best coast. However Im with you on the Pats.

it is hard for a timing offense like the saints to move the ball when you are playing on a horrible field with that i will take the 7 and buy a hook i think colts winn a close game

';Could not get 2 more deserving coaches and programs IMO... ';

Luckily Tank Johnson was allowed to leave Illinois for this game.

The ghosts of Walter Payton and Papa Bear Halas will guide us to the Promised Land. At least one defensive touchdown, and a return for a TD by Devin Hester against Indy%26#39;s soft special teams. But I might be a little biased; hope I%26#39;m not em';Bear';assed on Monday!

Don%26#39;t know about Las Vegas or the coasts but there is plenty of hype here.

Further observations from my Lady - The Ivan Mestrovic bronze sculptures of the 2 Indian warriors on horseback on Congress at Michigan in Grant Park both have Bears blankets draped over the backs of the horses.

Also a building on Michigan has ';Bear Down Bears!'; written in lights.

what are the odds these days?

Here in Indy it is the same. Everywhere you go there is a Colts banner. one of the the downtown buildings has a giant projector showing Colts highlights then length of the building. Everywhere you look is Blue. I can only imagine that it will get worse after the Colts smash the Bears Sunday. You can come watch our parade Chitown. Some businesses and schools have announced they will be closed on Monday.
