Trip Report (Aladdin, Allegiant Air ment.)

Hey all. Just returned from Vegas Wed. night. Had a great time %26amp; thought I would post my trip report in case it would be helpful to anyone. Flew Allegiant Air (3 hour delay, mechanical---I love Allegiant, but this is a problem, with only one plane flying back %26amp; forth to thise little cities, you literally have to wait until the plane from Vegas arrives before you can go). We did get a GREAT deal though (IMHO) $272 for air from Cedar Rapids, Iowa %26amp; 3 nights at the Aladdin. Of course, the continuing construction on the Aladdin is a big part of the cheap rate I%26#39;m sure. The Aladdin was nice, the room was very spacious and beds were really comfortable. The bathroom was very big w/ 2 vanity/sink areas, a big tub %26amp; walk-in shower. And of course the location is wonderful. Now for the down side, since there is construction on the front part of the Aladdin, you have to walk a long way through the casino %26amp; then through the Desert Passages mall to get out to the strip. A small inconvenience considering the price and hopefully short-lived. I didn%26#39;t find The Aladdin very user-friendly, hard to find elevators in the casino area and no signage. The only resort/casino I have to compare it to that I%26#39;ve stayed at is the Monte Carlo which seemed dead-easy to get around in %26amp; find others in, so keep that in mind. Went to a few shows, Mama Mia (which I was a bit disappointed in, great music but not much of a story line) and the Folles Bergere at the Tropicana. Really enjoyed the old Vegas type feel of the Folles! Saw Big Elvis at the Barbary Coast, he was excellent....sounded just like Elvis to me. Very friendly %26amp; ready to take pictures w/fans. Had the breakfast buffet at the Paris 2 mornings, it was so good %26amp; not a bad price at $14/pp since it includes coffee %26amp; juice (when you consider you can pay $5 just for a glass of juice in Vegas). Had dinner at Margaritaville one night, food was ok, great atmosphere. Took the Duece downtown, only about 20 minutes to get there, about 45 minutes to get back, ug! Got to love the Deuce! ;o) Overall, a great quick trip.

How was the gambling?

We fly Allegiant out of Des Moines coming up in March. They do have some good deals. Can%26#39;t wait.

When you went downtown, what time of day was that, and also coming back at what time? That 20 min trip was great.

Glad you had fun. Too bad you have to come back to this iceberg we call Iowa!

Thanks for sharing your TR. Sounds like you had a great time. We%26#39;ll be going Feb 27. Can%26#39;t wait. We%26#39;re staying at Paris. Thanks for the buffet review.....will have to try it. Hope the gambling was good!!

sounds like you guys had a lot of fun! did you try those infamous nachos at margaritaville?
