Wagyu / Kobe beef

Can anybody tell me which high-end restaurants in LV serve Wagyu or Kobe beef?

Have you tried it? Was it worth the price?

Thanks

Wagyu / Kobe beef

No such thing as Kobe in the USA, it is all Wagu.

I have tried it a few times, but never again, just not worth the price. I prefer just plain ole Prime beef seved in most steakhouses.

If you insist on eating fat, try Craft Steak at MGM, or a Burger at the Mandalay Burger Bar the other tourist rip-off joint. Both places will gladly overcharge you by selling you American Wagyu and call it Kobe.:%26gt;)

Wagyu / Kobe beef

Point taken.

Thanks

The Statosphere has a Kobe burger at the Top of the World restaraunt. We went there for lunch and my friend had it she said it was great! I think it was a $12.00 burger.

There is Kobe beef in the US, imported from Japan. But most of it is ';Kobe style'; or Wagyu. You do have to be careful, because a lot of places list it as Kobe beef, but it%26#39;s really not. I don%26#39;t know any place in Vegas that imports Kobe at this time, but all the steakhouses will have a version of Wagyu. Some Asian restaurants will have a ';sashimi'; style Wagyu. Fix at Bellagio (mentioned in another thread) has a Kobe, but I bet if you asked the waiter, it%26#39;d be Wagyu.

I actually don%26#39;t think it makes a good burger because it%26#39;s too tender. It just turns to mush.

There is Kobe beef in the US but American raised Wagyu is now more common. Restaurants started using the American bred cattle when the FDA banned importation of Japanese beef in 2001 (due to BSE). They lifted the ban 2005.

KOBE beef can not be exported from Japan.

They serve Kobe beef at Cut in Los Angeles, and a few other places that specially import it.

We had what was advertised as Kobe Fillet Steak at the Craft Steak House in the MGM (MArch 2006) and it was around $120 just for the steak. Plus a full explanation from the excellent staff all about Kobe beef.

All i can say is that it was absolutely worth every penny and we are definately going back again for another 22-29 March 2007.

If i were you dazaroooni i would definately go and try it.

Yeh ! I%26#39;ll go and try it, but at that price the wife will have to stay at home ! :)
