Hi all.,
we are visiting Las Vegas next week from the U.K. would like to know what type of clothes to pack. It is mild today in the U.K. 14 centigrade...is it just slightly warmer in Vegas? Also does anyone know this from the U.K..... is it best to change our money in Vegas or do it from the U.K..... ...obviously we are after the best rate. If it is best in Vegas do we just use the Hotels or are the ATM better in Vegas..I know in the UK it is best to use the ATM rather than the Hotels. As usual we are on a budget so just trying to stretch the money as far as it will go!... Any advice on any of my questions would be helpful. Thanks
Warm or cold?
The forecast for next week is for quite nice weather (60s) but it does get very chilly at night at this time of year so you need to bring clothes that can be worn in layers and can be added and discarded as appropriate. Also that forecast isn%26#39;t cast in stone and I%26#39;d check a weather site the day before you leave to get a final update. Temps in February in Vegas can be erratic to say the least. It can make the 70s if you%26#39;re lucky but be stick in the low 50s (with overnight lows not much above freezing) if you%26#39;re not.
My own take on what to do regarding your money would be to bring US$ travelers%26#39; checks. They can be cashed without a charge at any casino cage and can be used as cash in virtually any restaurant or store (make sure you have picture id for any transaction). Exchange rates offered by hotels aren%26#39;t so great. How economic using ATMs is will depend on what charges your own bank adds on for transactions.
Warm or cold?
Hi.
The temps in Vegas will be around 70* this weekend and for the early part of next week, but will drop a bit as the week goes on to around an average of 62*-66*.
Those are quite nice temps for early Feb,but as stated above you will still need a small coat and/or pullover because once the night time arrives the temp can drop fast and if the wind gets up its quite chilly.
If it is over 60* and not to windy you will be very happy as 608 in Vegas feels warmer than in the UK because its a dry heat.
As for exchanging your money, well do not use the atm%26#39;s because you pay a fee for using them,to the hotel they are at and maybe to your bank also.
Go change your money at Marks and Spencers, which at this moment are offering $1.90 for a 拢,
You wont beat that at the airport bureau de change%26#39;s for certain.
Good Luck,and enjoy.

Thanks so much for replying so quickly..
The suitcases are out...the layers are going in and then I am straight off to Marks and Spencer.
Vivalasvegas here we come!!
Just a point about M%26amp;S...
We got travellers cheques at M%26amp;S in Sept 2005 for our trip to the US and they were Visa cheques which we found a lot of places didn%26#39;t accept - we often had to change at a bank. We%26#39;ve never had problems with AMEX cheques.
In Vegas, we had no probs changing the TC%26#39;s at the casinos - just go to the cashier station.

I thought we weren%26#39;t supposed to use the phrase ';but it%26#39;s a dry heat'; anymore. Didn%26#39;t you get that memo?
