Can%26#39;t afford to stay there but want to visit. What are the ';don%26#39;t miss'; things to see? Just want to go and gawk, maybe gamble a $20 or so.
Thanks.
The WynnThe Wynn is nice, but I don%26#39;t know of very many ';must see'; attractions. The whole place as a package is nice, and I guess I would have to say the parasol area where the lake of dreams is would be one place to visit.
I tend to tell people to play the penny/nickel slots there. In three trips to Vegas those have been the best paying slots for me on the strip...total winnings for my wife and myself are around $3000 and our input was around $300 total.
Get a players card and see how many points you rack up, our last trip was in December and they gave us another 2 buffet%26#39;s for having 150 points on my card.
Check out the shopping area, it is quite nice - other than that just go and enjoy the Wynn experience, I think its the best on the strip.
The WynnMaria,
I felt the same way about seeing Wynn last year shortly after it opened. It is way on the North side of the strip so hard to get to but I made a special trip there to see the place.
NOT IMPRESSED. As the other poster mentioned, there is a lake/mountain video show. It is SO LAME - especially compared to the fabulous Bellagio fountains and even the Venetian. Most LV visitors can see the Bellagio fountains 10 times or more and never be disappointed. I can%26#39;t imagine anyone ever going back to the Lake/light show thing. And that bar is a total, total rip off.
There are some over the top expensive things like a Ferrarri dealership which have obviously been designed just to get people to think %26#39;expensive%26#39;.
If it were in my hometown, then I would love the Wynn. But while in Vegas, where there is Bellagio so close to everything, I have to wonder what the attraction is at Wynn.
I *love* to stay at the Wynn, but it%26#39;s more geared to serving guests than being a tourist destination, unlike some of the other properties.
I think the marble, colors, shopping and plantings, etc. are all striking but there isn%26#39;t anything like the fountain show, the Bellagio conservatory, giant aquarium, animatronic statues, etc. to come to see. If you want to dine at one of the excellent restaurants (including the buffet - the best I%26#39;ve had in town), see one or more of Steve Wynn%26#39;s Picassos behind the registration desk, admire the flower arrangements, see a show or just check out one of the newest casinos in town it%26#39;s worth stopping in. Oh, and you may like the Ferrari dealship if you%26#39;re into that kind of thing. Don%26#39;t expect to be blown away by the Lake of Dreams. It%26#39;s interesting but some of the shows are really more odd than anything else.
127,The Wynn is a nice place to go to gawk. One of the nice places to go when playing the Slots.Have always been treated Great,no matter if your playing Penny or Dollar Slots.
this is just another perfect example of differing people%26#39;s opinions.
while i loooove the bellagio fountains and always stop in to see their conservatory, i really enjoy playing at the wynn. the seats are comfy, the atmosphere is beautiful, no one looks down on you even if you%26#39;re playing penny slots - which they have quite a few machines of! And honestly, we%26#39;ve managed to havea couple hundred dollars last us quite a long time on the slots there. i can%26#39;t say the same for the bellagio. I think the Wynn is a great place to check out, but it definately doesn%26#39;t have any cheesey animatronics if that%26#39;s what you%26#39;re looking for! ;)
To me the Wynn is something that grows on you. Each time I visit the other hotel/casinos the magic seems to wear off more and more each time (with the exception of Bellagio) but the Wynn is the one place I seem to like better each time. I love the atmosphere there. If you can try to get into Tryst (if you are visiting in the evening.) At least take a look at the buffet area, it%26#39;s the prettiest in Vegas. Walk into Chocolat and if you are a truffle lover like my husband is splurge and try one (he says it%26#39;s the best he has ever had.)
I agree with winning at penny and nickel slots at the Wynn I was shocked at how much I won there and lots of people were winning around me. I guess I thought since it was new it would be tight pleasantly surprised.
I%26#39;ve always done pretty decently on the penny slots at the Wynn as well. I thought the Wynn was nice, it was nice to see once, but unlike the Bellagio where I go every trip to see the fountains and the new display in the conservatory, in the future I will only go to the Wynn to play a few slots and eat at the buffet.
I won over $300 on a single hit on a penny slot at the Wynn called Copper Dropper. I took a chance and tried that same machine the next day and walked away with a profit of $100 that time. I had been up over $120, so I quit while I was still ahead!
I wouldn%26#39;t bank on winning at the slots, but they do have a nice variety and the drink service is excellent- I%26#39;ve even had some yummy mojitos while playing there! That might make the casino worth checking out for some people, but you may need to play v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y in order to get a drink ordered and delivered before you go through a $20.
I really enjoy playing at Wynn, though staying there is even better. Like many others, I seem to win more there than at other places.
One thing that no one has mentioned is having lunch at the place in the back, over looking the golf course. I think it is called the County Club Grill. That has become one of my favorite restuarnts in LV. If you are interested in just viewing the golf course and not eating, they were allowing people on the patio who were just looking.
I also like grabbing an ice cream from Sugar %26amp; Spice and eating it out on the patio by the water.
