Signature @ MGM Grand now Ranked #1

I think that it is well deserved. It%26#39;s my new favorite place in Vegas. The best of all worlds: luxurious yet fun; quiet yet exciting; sophisticated yet friendly. It is currently a bargain compared to it%26#39;s most similar hotel - the Four Seasons.

I am glad that Non-Smokers now have a hotel to call their own in Las Vegas.

A #1 Ranking well deserved in my opinion.

Signature @ MGM Grand now Ranked #1

I totally agree - my stay there was flawless and it felt like I was staying at the Four Seasons. The level of staff and service is incredible - I wouldn%26#39;t think of staying anywhere else. I wish they would open them in major cities around the country.

Signature @ MGM Grand now Ranked #1

Are you talking about the TA Popularity Index? It%26#39;s not exactly a dependable selection tool.

A Holiday Inn Express is ranked #4, while Wynn is rated #20. Barbary Coast is rated #8, while Caesar%26#39;s Palace is rated #27.

Okay, Signature is swell. No argument from me.

Orleans was #1 a couple of years ago. It is #1 with viewers on this site, not the star rating system.

#1 where?

opinions are just that - so #1 is subjective and I%26#39;d want to know based on what criterion.

It is a great property.

Agreed! Was able to visit The Signature a few months ago and it is the best combination of access and escape. It has a boutique hotel feel for more personal service but the indoor walkway to MGM Grand gives you direct access to all the gambling, food, and entertainment.

It%26#39;ll be my first pick next time I%26#39;m in town for a convention; direct access to the LVCC via MGM%26#39;s Monorail station.

We%26#39;ll be there for 5 nights next week. Booked my stay back in August and have read all of the superb reviews since then. For any of you who have stayed there, what type of coffee maker is in the room? is it the hotel standard 4 cupper or something more generous. will write a review/trip report upon my return.

thanks dave

The way I understand the rankings is that they are all relative to the number of stars which classify the hotel. So, Barbary Coast and Orleans are considered the best 3-star hotels. I don%26#39;t think anyone would assume they should expect the same thing as provided by a 5-star hotel.

I agree with the general TA rankings. For example, I consider Bellagio to be ahead of Caesars and Wynn. The other 4-star and 3-star rankings seem to make sense from what I%26#39;ve experienced.

Given that the Signature is ranked as a 5-star hotel makes the #1 ranking even more impressive. People%26#39;s expectations are high based on the 5-star classification - and they are still giving it the #1 rating.

I believe the rankings are based on a average of the scores the TA reviewers give the hotel. So the rankings have to do with how pleased the TA reviewers are with the hotel. Places like Wynn, Caesars, even Bellagio get reviews from people that haven%26#39;t even stayed at the hotel- getting a 1 star averaged in because someone was mad that ';the slots are tight'; or ';the food costs so much.'; Places like Signature are for quests only (and other places that are ranked high like Renaissance, JW Marriott, the Holiday Inn which are all in the top 5 usually get reviews from guests only and not mere visitors.) Signature%26#39;s ranking shows that the guests there are rarely disappointed which shows that the service there must really be great.

Heading there in April - does anyone know if the toilet seats are made out of gold?

Yes they are, Jaco, and you will find a $5,000 charge to your room incidentals if the seat isn%26#39;t still bolted down after you check out! No, really this happened to my cousin%26#39;s friend%26#39;s uncle!
