timeshare rentals
We have stayed at the Fairfield Grand Desert on Harmon our last three visits and it%26#39;s been great, they are just like an apartment. A word of advice though, stay away from the salespeople, they think they are God%26#39;s gift to humanity and heaven forbid that you say no to them. If you think about it, timeshares are a really bad investment. If they were a good investment, why are there so many units for sale and for rent, also why is their value about half of the original cost in five to ten years.

Her is the thing on timeshares..Our first one we thought what a waist. But the truth of the matter is..They are GREAT! and well worth it if you use them. Since then we purchased more. Two in VEGAS.
WE love them. You can rent them out as you see sometimes. This is due to the person not using them so they rent them to pay for the maintance fee.
We get a Two bedroom two bathroom condo living room and dining forever. Meaning it is deaded so they go to your children. Not bad. Once paid in full you never have to look for a place to stay.
We have never been pressured into buying.
We plan on giving my nephew and his wife a week%26#39;s vacation wherever they decide to go for their vacations
Why would you use a timeshare when you can get rooms for next to nothing at the casinos?

Simple reason why to rent a timeshare:
You can rent a 1,000 square foot two bedroom, two bathroom unit on the strip for about $1000 a week.
For the space and the quiet moments.A week in a hotel would drive me crazy.Like the feel of a condo.
I love the Condo too. If you have kids who wants to share a room with them. Two bedroom condo kids in one room you in next room. also you have a sleeper sofa in Lr and extra bedroom. Sleeps 8
We are over a year away from our next trip to the US so thought I would start browsing.
I agree timeshare can be a great lifestyle investment, if not a financial one. For us, living on the road, it has provided really nice acommodation when we often have to stay in budget places. It is very good, but not for everyone.
Financially it looks set to be a wise decision also, but we bought resale, so paid the depreciated value. We use bonus time, rental weeks, exchange constantly so has saved us a lot of money. However for us to have made such gains someone has made a loss, So people over extending then not being even able to afford to take their holiday, then sell their timeshare without ever taking a single week has given people like us great value last minute deals and good resale value. Doesn%26#39;t make me feel good about the concept in general however I have done ok by it so no complaints.
Still when I read it is $1,000 a week for a rental in Vegas I fallover. !
Have the property boom over there sent prices sky high.
Haven%26#39;t been to Vegas for ages. Last time was on a Bob Stupak special. Anyone remember those? lol, bit of fun... My memory is that Vegas had fantastic accommodation value. I thnnk it was about $60 a night normal. Caveat...has been a while. Time is flying.
Instead of going to Vegas myself may instead rent a week out for $1,000! Win more that way lol
Verdant,
If you want the cheapest room available, the hotels offer unbeatable deals. However, if you are looking for more spacious accommodations, you cannot find those deals on the strip. Suites go up dramatically in price above hotel rates. That%26#39;s where timeshare rentals come in. You can rent a week for $1500 in a Vegas strip area timeshare with little or no effort, and rent a unit for $1000 with a little searching. Try redweek or the rentals at tugbbs.com
