Trip Report - 4-10 October - Part 3 last part!

Sunday

This morning we had our 2nd helicopter trip and it was amazing, no hitches this time. After arriving back to Paris we walked down to the M%26amp;M store. I didn鈥檛 really get this shop. Why such a big deal and so many people buying so much stuff? Anyway, I joined in and bought some tat for the folks back home. We had a quick and cheap lunch at Panda Express which cost $14. We wandered about the few shops down there but got bored and couldn鈥檛 find a shop selling DVDs for a friend back home, so we cut our losses and caught the deuce bus up to the Fashion Show Mall (www.thefashionshow.com). So many shops but we still could not find a DVD shop and weren鈥檛 now in the mood for shopping, very surprised as it is my hobby, so gave up and caught the deuce bus back to Paris.

I had a quick nap and Mark did something downstairs. We then got dressed up and headed down to Mon Ami Gabi at 7pm. We didn鈥檛 have reservations but we requested a table outside and were told about 1hr30m, but to come back in 45mins. We did some slots and won nothing. Headed back over to the desk %26amp; were given a pager. We walked away and within 10mins the pager buzzed. We were sat down just after 8pm - fantastic. Had a great view of the fountains at the Bellagio. We had a delicious meal though the service wasn鈥檛 100%. Nothing major but just not very prompt or attentive.

We decide to go to Bally鈥檚 for some roulette and I blew $70 in less than 40mins. I was distraught! I don鈥檛 do losing not after my previous good fortune. I must admit I sulked a bit and went to do some slots were I won about $20. I then went to bed and left Mark to try his luck.

Monday

We packed up and instead of breakfast munched on some snacks in the room before checking out. We earned a whopping $16.50 in comps off our room!... Not bad for the small time gambler - every little helps. We left our cases with the Bell Captain and headed to Barbary Coast for 1 last attempt to win. Alas it was not to be. I lost about another $30 on the Wheel of Fortune and Roulette.

We caught a taxi to the airport and after a hilarious check-in (a group of 10 Essex Princesses), we sat and ate a Burger King (the first trashy food of the holiday!). The flight home was uneventful and we were extremely pleased to get the bulkhead seats which ensured we both slept for over 7hrs.

Afterthoughts

We absolutely loved Las Vegas and will definitely be back as soon as the Grandparents feel they can cope for another week with our little one.

I was so glad to have read the forums and picked up lots of tips which I definitely put to good use. The key things which made for an enjoyable trip were: comfortable shoes; a decent camera; a good size handbag; a budget which we easily managed to stick to; some plans; and most of all a willingness to have fun. I was disappointed not to have won enough to got my Tiffany necklace but hey ho next time!

Nice post-

I gotta agree with you-I dont know why people go crazy over the M %26amp; M and Coke store stuff?? to each each is own I guess

Greats pics, thanks for sharing!

Glad you enjoyed my long report! I enjoyed writing it and giggling away at all the things we did. Seems so long ago but we have only been back 2 days!

Great trip report! I loved the part where you sulked after losing $70.

I always tell myself I should be thrilled to be in Vegas. I still sulk for a few minutes. You packed a lot into your trip. Glad you had fun!

It is actually good that you did not find a DVD shop. The DVDs sold in the US are not PAL and probably coded for the wrong zone. They would not be suitable for play in the UK.

Miriam - thoroughly enjoyed the TR, especially the pictures. Also, always love the British lingo - ';everyone was heaving for breakfast'; obviously means something different over there!!

Thank you so much for your report mim, you guys had a really fun time. Your pics were great too, thank you for sharing them with us. Of course ours are still in the camera, waiting for Marc to download them :)
